Varna System Explanation

 Varna system  refers to social class development followed in ancient Indian subcontinent .Varna is explained Hindu text like Mahabharatha , Rig Vedic text , Manusmrithi.

Varna Meaning

The word Varna is derived from the Sanskrit world means order. The varna system shapes the society of people in the community , in order to develop the society .Varna created and derived  based on talent . Varna  gives opportunity based on skill of the person not by birth .Varna is explains social division of labor method and what work should they do ,varna dharma and principle...etc

The Four varnas

Varna divides the society of work into four types ,based on their knowledge , ability , skill , power & they are

• Brahmins: priests, scholars and teachers

• Kshatriyas: rulers, warriors and administrators

• Vaishyas: agriculturalists and merchants.

• Shudras: laborers and service providers.

Brahmin:

 

The one who teach and plans the society to improve their lifestyle is called Brahmin. Brahmin are very knowledge and intelligent .They teach the society and passes the knowledge of devotional, vedic science , medicine , art, culture .. etc.  The one who became Brahmin is based on their teachings not based on their birth.

Kshatriya:

The one who gains the strength and ability of the warriors to fight the enemy in the war to save their land, country, wealth & people is called Kshatriya. Kshatriya  knows the war statistics and well trained in sword and archery . King, commanders and warriors of the kingdom comes under the Kshatriya . They are have more power to rule ,govern & save  the kingdom

Vaishya:

The one who trade materials ,foods, and other goods to others is called Vaishya. Merchants , farmer comes under the Vaishya. Trade is their primary job and they earn money and spend their days in it.

Shudra:

The onw who work for wage under brahmin, kshatriya, vaishya is called as Shudra. They can work for long time for high or low wages based on their work. They are the very hard worker than any other varnas in the society. They plays a important role in customize the wealth of society because without workers the society cannot develop and construct the basic need of the society.

Does Varna system supports the Jati

In modern day , Many people think Varna system build jati and caste system ,but our ancient text  does not say anything about jati in Varna system.

Varna system explains social division of labor based on their knowledge and skill, where jati is used to  refer the community or a clan in the ancient India.

Varna system doe not encourage untouchability and it says to give mutual respect to each other varnas.
